Sharnbrook is home to one of the many detachments of Bedfordshire's Army Cadet Force, a great youth organisation for 12-18 year olds.
And Bedfordshire is just one county with cadet detachments. Nationally, The Army Cadet Force has over 50000 members, including 10000 girls and 8000 volunteer leaders, in over 1700 detachments right across the country. From major cities to sleepy little villages, they're everywhere. They're a lot like youthclubs.
As an army cadet you can take part in a range of military activities, like fieldcraft, orienteering, and drill, learn new skills such as first aid, navigation and weapon handling, and have new experiences, like covering your face in camouflage cream, eating ration food, and being shot at.
